Joker Film Review

I went to watch the joker this weekend, and was outstanded by the cinematography of the film, i didn’t know what to expect for this film i saw a huge amount of controversy for this film alongside with recent reviews from rotten tomatoes however when i started watching this film i knew this was highlighting how society treats people who have mental disabilities and how aren’t as privileged as others. This film uses such an amazing soar throughout the film which fits in perfectly with how the joker feels emotionally. The film starts off with Arthur fleck known as the joker works in the clown company how starts off by getting attacked by a group of young teenagers, this is such an important scene of the film because this gives the audience an impression on how the joker feels and what fuels him to murder. This film was a gritty, dark comic book film that centres on the villain where were seeing the comic book genre transcending its genre into something more meaningful. The audience before would just see the joker as a psychopathic villain and arch nemesis to batman being the most iconic villain for decades but never had a film highlighting the effects of why the joker is the way he is but thanks to Todd Phillip’s the director of this film gave audiences an insight of the joker and how society treats people in the real word who are living in poverty alongside with mental health issues. Last of all the acting from Joaquin phoenix was Oscar performance tier, I wouldn’t be surprised if he won best actor simply because if the creators of batman were alive to see the joker today this would be an exact splitting image of what they would want joker to be.
